Tips for Viewing the Webcast

Webcast Download Tips:

Sorry there is no free hotline you can call for tech-support for viewer problems in accessing the webcasts. Please don''t call the videographer at the show, we are busy working and can''t answer the phone. (yes thats us running the camera!)

Most download issues relate to not enough speed available at your location, and or too much traffic on your local internet service. If your picture is freezing up that is a classic speed problem. The second most common problem is security settings on your own computer blocking the webcast. Our webcast is LIVE, and closely follows the timing of events in the arena, which may not be running according to expectations. If you keep an eye on NRCHA''s Facebook page, they will update what the current status is, ie: an ice storm with no power and the horse show is postponed.

You are downloading a live streaming video file when watching a webcast. The webcast is streamed using Adobe Flash YOU MUST HAVE THE CORRECT SOFTWARE AND A BROWSER ON your computer that allows streaming media to play. There are free downloads you can get on the internet if you don''t have what you need.

Clear the cache on your browser. Turn Off any other functions you are using when watching a webcast. You may need to reconfigure your security or privacy settings. High security settings or firewalls may often block your downloading efforts. Most people downloading streaming video set their security to a MEDIUM level. If you see a white page instead of a viewer this is usually due to the video stream being blocked in some fashion at your location. This can be due to a firewall, router or security application checking for a virus.

If your computer asks if you ALLOW ACCESS to our website, the answer should be YES. You can add Galloping Video to your TRUSTED SITES on your home computer through the control panel>tools> internet security options. If you are having problems staying connected, turn off any other functions you are running on your computer, as you may be slowing it down. Shared internet access can be very volitle with many users coming in and out and the speed of your connection will vary. You can test your local connection at speedtest.net.

For streaming video DSL connections of 1,000 kbps work best. You should be able to view our live video webcast at a 280 kbps download speed.

If you are watching at work there also may be corporate firewall issues and security measures that prevent downloading the webcast file. Talk to your company'''''s IT person so see what options are.

Enjoy the webcast and please be sure to visit our sponsors websites and drop them a note to say thanks. Webcast ads underwrite the entire cost of providing horse show events free to the public, and sponsors are few and precious.
